Woodland Tassels is a woman-owned Washington studio creating original leather bag charms, tassels, and accessories for people who believe the bags they carry should feel like their own.
I’m Camille, the designer and maker behind Woodland Tassels. I began the business in 2023, before bag charms returned to the wider fashion spotlight, drawn to the idea that something as simple as a charm or tassel could completely change the personality of a favorite bag.
It turned out I wasn’t the only one who felt that way.
What began at my worktable has grown into more than 5,500 orders, hundreds of five-star reviews, an innovative studio and a wonderfully creative community of customers and collectors. Although Woodland Tassels has grown, every collection is still imagined, designed, and handcrafted by me in small batches from my Washington State studio.
An Unexpected Creative Path
Before Woodland Tassels, I trained as a professional classical clarinetist and performed on stages around the world. I later built a career in philanthropy and the cultural sector, bringing people together around art, history, and ideas that mattered.
Today, as a mom of three, my creative life looks a little different. It is filled with colorful leather, sketches, hardware, late-blooming ideas, and more tiny woodland creatures than I ever expected to create.
The path may not have been a straight one, but each part of it taught me something about composition, storytelling, careful craftsmanship, and the power of building a community around something people love.
Original Designs, Made in Small Batches
Every Woodland Tassels piece begins as an original design in my studio. I select the leather, experiment with color and texture, and finish each piece by hand using genuine leather and quality hardware.
Some designs return in new colors and combinations. Others appear only once, inspired by a season, a story, a customer suggestion, or a particularly irresistible piece of leather.
Because I work with natural materials and produce in small batches, no two pieces are exactly alike. Those subtle variations are part of their character—not imperfections to be hidden.
A Little Joy for the Bags You Love
Woodland Tassels is built around a simple belief: useful things can still be joyful.
A charm or tassel may be a small detail, but it can make an everyday bag feel new again. It can reflect something you love, start a conversation, or simply make you happy when you reach for your keys.
That is what I hope to create here: pieces that are beautifully made, full of personality, and a little unexpected.
